IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
This is raw soap and may contain tiny fragments of cocoa pod ash that can be rough against the skin, so it is best to lather the bar on wet hands or on a washcloth instead of usingĀ the bar directly on the skin or hair.

A good way to increase the longevity of the bar is to break off a small piece and store the larger bar in plastic. A little bit goes a long way.

African Black Soapā€™s naturally glycerin-rich content causes the soap to absorb moisture from the air. Over time, soap left unused and exposed to moist air can develop a thin white film. It is NOT mold, but merely the result of the air-moisture absorption process, and will rinse off easily once used again.

Rinse off the lather with lukewarm water, making sure to remove any soap residue from your skin.

Gently pat your skin dry with a clean towel, being careful not to rub or irritate your skin.

I started buying on the company website last year after I got what I suspected was a counterfeit product on Amazon. The price is also less on the company website. Generally,it takes them two days to process the order (pick it, pack it, invoice and print the label) - so it usually ships the day after you placed your order (48 hours). My orders ship out of the Southwest, I don't know if they have multiple warehouses - but once the product is picked up, I see it two days later. So if I bought it on Monday - I see the product by Friday. I'm good with that timeline - its also why I buy two bottles at a time, so I don't run out.

I love Bay Rum

I love Bay Rum, it is my favorite aftershave, it does not have that weird funky smell that most men's products have. I am not sure what it is, but thank god it does not have it (the stuff that smell like Axe :))

Anyway, this is the best one that I have found, the most traditional that I have found from what I have read on Bay Rum and the formulation has not changed in the 5 years I have been using it - unlike Royal and St. Johns.

It's light, and settles in quickly, you don't have to worry about using too much because it dissipates so nicely. Also, it is much more like a tonic, I don't just but it on my face after a shave - I rub my scalp chest and arms with it - its a great year round scent for a warm climate. In fact, on hot days, a quick splash is refreshing and cooling.

Why more men don't use Bay Rum is beyond me - but that's cool, I like being the guy that women like to smell. I do wish it came in a larger bottle and a travel size bottle would be great as well. You can travel with the 4oz bottle but it is a bit big for a toiletry bag. A two ounce travel size would be great - I'd buy three of four at a time. As it is, I buy two 4oz bottles every time I start to run low.

So, a great product...one of the few branded products I stick with and I hope they never change.

Awesome aftershave

Awesome aftershave especially for the price. Itā€™s definitely not a scent Iā€™ve had in the past so I appreciate how unique it is. I put it in a spray bottle and it works really well. What is good about bay rum?
